Am I cold and hard-hearted? Recently the news seems to have been filled with stories and headlines such as "celine-dion-cries-at-rene-angelils-open-casket-wake" and "Lomu's widow Nadene saying she was upset by people stealing souvenirs from her husband's headstone." Then there are the stories of other celebrities dying such as Glen Frey of The Eagles and David Bowie Quite frankly I dont care. I wasn't related to any of them, I had no personal involvement with any of them and it is a simple fact that everyone dies eventually. Why does the media feel that we all want to pour out our hearts over a few who made names for themselves by doing what they wanted in life.
I might have paid more attention if the headlines had been something along the lines of "Jonah Lomu to be stuffed and displayed at the Auckland Museum" or "Celine Dion stabs herself in the heart over her husband's casket" but really it is all just a ploy to sell papers.

I might say that I was sorry to see Bowie go. I liked his music and I liked Labyrinth. [Labyrinth! Mustve entered my 2nd childhood, but there you go......] Eagles? Didn't like their music much. The Mott The Hoopie drummer? wasn't aware of him, but there's good music, there's bad music, there's appalling music and then there's Mott The Hoopie..... youtu.be/6Sih9OVokuQ
