Lord spare me from techno illiterate old women!
My elderly friend wanted to watch a program that clashes with another.
We went out and bought a DVD recorder.
I was unable to set it up properly in the time I had. (I think I know where I went wrong) but I was heading back to fix it.
Now she rings me to say she is taking it back because she couldn't watch TV all weekend (I only plugged the new toy in on Saturday afternoon). She can't get a signal no matter what she pokes on the remote.
Sounds like the aerial cable has come out - easy fix or that the beasty needs to be left turned on, an idea she doesn't like.
How the hell she is going to cope pressing a different button and scrolling down a menu to switch to the correct AV channel I don't know.
*sigh*

Yeah well, I needed to vent. Problem solved anyway - the machine does need to be left on at the wall for the aerial to work. I got it programed up anyway without much difficulty. Now to see if it recorded the programme. My 93 year old friend and changing the channel to video on her big screen TV doesn't fill me with confidence.
This Sanyo requires 3 buttons to be pressed in sequence to do so. A hard ask when you can't see well.
